Voted Castle course only really because of the difference and some thoroughly enjoyable days there. Had some great scores, had some horrific ones. New and Jubilee are equally brilliant but I have to say Eden wasn't as memorable or enjoyable.

Member here at Brampton, so probably a little biased but it really is a super track, improving all the time, and definitely meets the criteria of "hilly".

Balcomie is so wacky in places. Great course and is a brilliant pair of courses for 36.

Played at WG last week. Barely a blade of grass out of place on the whole course. I did get a few looks from members getting in and out of jacket and tie. Wondered if that was the case. I did hear from one fella playing that it was a waiting list and £7k joining fee. Not sure how true that...

The 18th at Windermere really lets it down. Nice course and greens but I thought Appleby was superb. Cumbria has some really great and underated courses: Brampton Silloth Seascale Appleby Ulverston Carlisle

Fantastic course. Got hailstones bouncing off the greens, gale force winds and sunburn all in the same 18 holes.

I live in Cumbria and played it quite a few times now. Played last Thursday and Friday in the Mizuno Pairs thing. Was absolutely superb as always. Stick it on one of the famous coasts and they would charge 5 times the green fee. Seascale is another whopping links course. People seem to...
