Would you consider selling the voodoo separately? I have the driver with a regular shaft and would like to try a stiff shaft to see if it improves things!
I hit 30+ balls at the range last night trying different things to fix my slice, and the strengthening of the grip gave me consistently straighter flight. I don't know if this is a permanent fix, but a lesson with my pro is the next thing. I have contemplated getting an adjustable headed Driver...
I actually prefer to have half an hour, but then I am only starting out. I find that after half an hour the pro has taught me how to swing again and my head hurts with all the input!
Driver lesson next, that may HAVE to be a whole hour!
WARNING: If you're anything like me, once you learn to hit your irons correctly, your driving will go to pot. Then once you fix your driving again your irons will go to pot. :)
I too am a starter. The way I do it is a max of 2 over par on every hole that I've wrecked, the rest speaks for itself.
I find my handicap (not yet official) bounces between 26 and 29, so the 28 is about right.
Lessons. A good pro will give you a club to take away and practice with. Get a feel for the game first before outlaying loads. Saying that I bought a set from ebay for £20 but never used them. I had three lessons. I then braved a course, and that was after buying a set of Wilson Di7's.
I've been playing for 8 months now and have finally managed to start finding the fairways at 200-220 yds of a 75% swing. that I am happy with as it tends to be only a long iron to the green (ore often than not to the front edge!). On the range I hit it dead straight and up to 250 yds. Go figure...
