I think a lot depends on how firm your greens are, I use to be a member of a tight course with proper hard greens I know pros/+ hc golfer didn't like it because they couldn't tear it up. Softer greens and it's birdie land for them.
Hi,
I am on holiday next week in Chudleigh (Exeter way) and saw East Devon Golf Club do a twilight for £22 after 4pm. Anyone fancy a game?
I am down that way from this Saturday to next Saturday and it seems a shame to miss the oppotunity to play the course(s) down there.
Cheers
Dan
I find his comments fine, but I do agree with the comments about ageing. Maybe the stresses of lack of form have hurt him. I think the new haircut doesn't help!
I am just over 6'2 and found going for a shorter putter (35 > 33.75) improved my putting (probably made me get over the ball properly). I have noticed I can creep up the grip though so I have to focus on gripping it properly. I tried the Odyssey putter fitting mirror and it reckons I suit a toe...
I was talking to pro before Xmas and they were saying the same that Adizero are ruining the greens, really noticable difference. I found it slightly ironic given they had a sale on them and probably supplied the offending shoes.
You lot are lucky to be playing. It's rained every day here for the last two weeks. All courses are closed!
Range tomorrow though, 3rd time this week, climbing the walls. I am gagging to get out and play.
Hi All,
Booked a holiday in Newquay in April and I've managed to convince the boss to let me bring the clubs.
Hopefully there's a GM'er down there somewhere as playing on my todd will be boring!
Cheers

Re-gripping is an important point, I had my irons and wedges done to make them all the same (Golf Pride Multi-Compound Midsize) and it's like having new clubs! Just need the rain to bugger off!
As above really, get a lesson with a good short game pro. Previously I would overcomplicate shots, now I keep it simple unless forced to do something special.
I chip and run using 7-pw depending on how far I am away from the flag. Using a simple putting stoke I aim to land it two metres onto...
Anyone else planning changes for 14?
I have switched back to my old putter with great success over the last month. I've been flirting with Scotty Cameron's on and off but gone back to my Odyssey. I am thinking about getting fitted for a versa #2 if the insert putting suit me.
I have also...
Highly recommend GG, I've got the full suit and well worth it. I like the level of adjustability and the fleece lined pockets.
Just got a wind proof top in the American Golf sale as more flexible material in the cold weather. Good for range too.
1) be consistent, and don't be lazy with my golf swing when playing.
2) get my handicap down from 17.2 down, aim is to be 10
3) practice at least once a week using a structured practice plan.
4) break 80 at my club (Broadstone GC) more than once :)
Having two lessons a month over the winter...
