    'The Challenge' has gripped me......

The last week of this scratch challenge has been a real case of 'two halves'. What progress I had made seemed short lived after a terrible performance over 10 holes against my friend, Simmo, who I play against regularly who plays to a similar standard. I should add, to make things worse, that...

    Scratch Challenge - Blog

Thanks Homer. The blog page is being changed to a website by weekend and I have a 100 holes in a day charity raiser I am doing hopefully with ex footballers Tommy Johnson - that's on 20th June and will provide pictures etc. Once it's a website I will do more with it. I appreciate the tips...

    Scratch Challenge - Blog

I had my best session on the range today after tweaking my grip, I've been playing a strong grip with an open stance for years without realising it. My new pro is a genius. Hitting it straighter cleaner longer every time. That's the most encouraging session of my life and it already feels more...

    Scratch Challenge - Blog

Mongoose, that's the most sensible and encouraging post I have read, since my grilling began. Thanks for your time and your advice is very much appreciated. Cheers.

    Scratch Challenge - Blog

I run charity events with several charities and they are run exceptionally well, and a 4 ball generally costs £500 for a company sponsored group - but I am in a lucky enough position to have clients who look to and want to support these events to give something back and also as it carries...

    Scratch Challenge - Blog

I'm doing a few things for different charities. First is 100 holes in a day for Guatamalan kids. I am hosting a few golf days for cancer charities - my Mum passed last year from it after a huge challenge with chemotherapy etc and I wanted to do something which would be a tough challenge also...

    Scratch Challenge - Blog

The cause is mainly for charity. And being a [****] golfer getting down that low is going to mean every minute outside of work will be practise. Anyway, respect to your opinions. As mentioned, I only put the blog link on here as a few people asked me to when I posted. If you don't want to read...

    Scratch Challenge - Blog

Try mine, I've gone from a 25 to 18 in a month, which I know isn't the hardest part, but I am aiming to make it way more than just a normal golf / scratch blog. I only started it as people on here asked me to start one after I wrote my first lengthy post. It may not be for everyone but would be...

    Scratch Challenge - Blog

Hi there, A few people suggested I should start a blog for the challenge I set myself to get to scratch next year. I have no experience of blogs but had a look into it, and with a little help from a friend have set one up. If anyone is still interested it is at the following address, and I can...

    Progress (Number 1)

I just wanted to say a quick thank you to all that have read my post and an extra thanks to all who passed on supportive messages - it really is appreciated.

    Finally got my Handicap...

Well played mate, that is great. Good luck in getting it down more.

    Progress (Number 1)

Mightymoose - you're right, but you can get a handicap revision if you are coming down very quickly and then play well below your HC. The point being that you can be a 25 (as I am on my official club HC) but then play heavily without handing cards in for a while and get yourself down to a...

    Progress (Number 1)

To be fair I found it really relaxing - I wasn't just smacking a driver all day, a lot of it was spent on wedges to gain distance and rhythm. I also spent a lot of time getting a routine in place and time just ran away with me....... I don't think that is sustainable but for the first few weeks...

    Progress (Number 1)

Not yet Bobmac. I should do in the next one to two weeks though.

    R9 Stiff Shaft

I bought a 9 degree one about one week ago, used it for 30 balls at the range. I could be tempted to sell it possibly - I thought that I would get on with 9 degree but actually prefer my 10.5.
