Gargle with a few drops of tea tree oil in water as often as every half hour until it feels better and take manuka honey.

I've used those as well in the past but was a cheapskate this time and just bought the mesh ones.

I've never had an issue with losing grip when they are dry. In fact they are the only gloves I wear when it's cold, wet or cold and wet.

Macwets do not make my hands cold. Do have handwarmers as well though when it's cold weather.
