Not sure about the brace but I think one handed golf is the way forward for you my friend. No danger of hurting your wrist then.
You have never been very good anyway so can't imagine it will make much difference.
If it's a wet day then I will dry them off, however rightly or wrongly if its a dry day then I usually don't. My Callaway irons hardly ever came out the bag and they never had a blemish on. This it why it shocked me a bit when I noticed.
