Amount of cards required for comps

No people like myself dont cheat and win a decent amount with an honest handicap. Usually a few hundred a year. Gear is expensive. I wouldnt ever pay the prices for top quality gear if I didnt have money in the book. I bought a Qi10 5 wood for 295 which was book money which i would never pay...

Amount of cards required for comps

Well I suppose you cant get cut by observation when out with your mates and there might be mulligans and gimmes and the rules may not be adhered to. Some people perform differently under competition conditions. ( I generally perform better) It just makes it easier to get a picture of the persons...

Making them submit a few cards just inconveniences them a bit. Those who protest the most perhaps have most to hide?. Perhaps if people want to...

Amount of cards required for comps

Because the “ few quid” can be 110 pound each for a team of four in a scramble with questionable handicaps.

Amount of cards required for comps

So an example might be someone who as you say doesnt want to play in formal comps ( i think many might learn more about the rules if they did). Then play in club matchplay comps with a generous handicap and also win team events with this handicap. Maybe this person has not submitted any cards...

Amount of cards required for comps

You clearly fall in to the category that are hit by the scattergun approach to eliminate or at least make it more difficult for bandits. I hear you, I get it. But you have two formal comps right there. You only need 1 more and three generals. I believe that if people dont regularly update their...

Amount of cards required for comps

It seems that around Club Golfer/Golf Monthly etc articles and other sources of information that many clubs in England and Wales have a requirement for cards to be submitted as a prerequisite for entry but not so many in Scotland and certainly no many in the North of Scotland.Perhaps just not...

Amount of cards required for comps

We have had a requirement in place at our club for 6 qualifying cards to enter competitions. This was in order to ensure that those playing had an accurate handicap ( or more accurate than if they submitted none) and to address the winning of prizes by those who played in Matchplay and Team...
