If you nail the basic fundamentals down in golf then you can get yourself down to a decent level if you're studious enough. Grip , posture , balance , takeaway , tempo and follow through are the vitals and all done well will make the game much easier.
I've seen that video and the young guy fitting the clubs really knows his stuff , sacrificing distance for tighter dispersion was impressive as most would run with the extra 10 yards distance.

There are quite a few circumstances where a flier may occur , grass between ball and clubface , water between ball and clubface , grain of grass with you and on some occasions grain of grass against you.
