I'm always up for a game in Essex. Can't be far from you as I'm just up the road from Noak Bridge.
May have to wait a few weeks though, as we are expecting our second child at some point next week! But once he's here and things have settled down I'd definitely be up for a game.
I've not...
Well done CK for organising a great day. Much appreciated and great fun despite the level of golf on show.
Thanks to Swanny and MYoung19 for their company, made the day a lot less painful.
Hopefully another meet can be arranged before not too long.
Always feel most confident with a 6i in my hand regardless of how the rest of my game is going. Probably because as a kid I spent countless hours over the local school fields with my dad's 6i. Everything from flop shots to putting on the cricket pitch to bunker play out of the long jump pit :)
Try the back of your local papers, usually two or three adverts for people buying any car for cash. Just make sure you keep the part of the vehicle registration form to say you've sold it, and sign it and send it off yourself.
Went to browse an online golf store at work one morning (as you do), and my stupid fat fingers missed the O. Clicked the first result on Google without looking and found myself staring at a page for GILFS on-line.
Scrambled for the back button and spent the rest of the morning nervously...
I have no issue with spelling mistakes, everyone has made them and they are easily overlooked when reading something back on the screen, or worse a mobile.
Long rambling sentences without punctuation, or large posts without paragraphs will cause me to loose interest pretty quickly though.
The trouble in my area is there are so many courses to choose from, so only a few can justify charging a joining fee.
The fact that the annual subs are so high compared to green fees, means unless you play more than once a week you are better off as a nomad anyway. Add a hefty joining fee...
There should be white lines or similar markings around the green, beyond which you can't take your trolley. As long as those are respected I don't have a problem with trolleys in the winter. Some clubs have them all year round, but I think that is a bit overkill. Common sense should prevail...
At your own club I think you should be open to being paired up or joined by other members you don't know, it's part of being a member as far as I am concerned.
If you book at an away course, I don't see why the pro can't ask you when you book if you mind being paired up, or if you would rather...
Would give mine a 7 as it is usually in good condition, the greens in particular. What I don't like is that some of the tee areas are uneven, though to be fair they are working their way around and fixing this.
I'm not too keen on the OB on the 9th, but that's more about me than the course!
