When did the brand numbers start for players from the academy? I mean foden 47 .. is that him for life now? Rice 41.. he's even taken that number on at the new club

Clearly something to do with branding and sales

Foden was offered the number 10 shirt when Aguero left but stuck with 47 as it was the age his grandad died, and he was a city fan.

I think Rice has a personal reason for wearing 41 aswell but can’t recall it.

Just googled it. I mentioned that some players have there numbers for a reason/ identity. And you are right re Fodens reason.
Re Rice. Whilst having a Google. He stuck with the number he had when he broke through from
The academy I believe.

I don't think hope has killed you too much over the last decade? Hope has often turned into reality.
I had hoped we might win a couple more champion league titles. 😁👍
Joking aside. It was like last night when Son was through, there was five seconds there where we went from controlled football to sheer agony. I cannot say on here what I said.
The over riding problem
With older City fans is the
” typical” City tag. I don’t think I will ever get rid of it.
It’s like Sundays final game. I suppose we are classed as favourites but there’s a nagging feeling at the back of my head.
Time will tell

We have a saying as Fulham fans that it's all gone Fulhamish and normally we find a way to cock it up when we are in prime position. Done it so many times over the years it has become a running joke amongst many of the older fans. I guess its similar to the old City days in the lower leagues when you had chances and found ways on and off the pitch to muck it up

I can just feel there will be another twist in the title, although I'm sure it is just hope for a bit of drama.

West Ham get a draw or win in Moyes' last game, with the their all time Premier league scoring great Antonio getting a MOTM performance.

Then, Arsenal beat Everton to win the title. Or, how even more gut wrenching would it be for Arsenal, if they couldn't beat Everton when City open the door?

The most boring outcome will be if City are 3 nil up after 20 minutes.

Yes please. 😁👍

Joking aside. Utd cancel end of season awards. 😳
What coz Utd have had a bad season. The women have won the FAcup. If they win v City surely that’s a good double celebration. 🤔

Surely that would be a good double celebration!????????

Come on now, pretty much since the season began, we've all been bashing Man Utd for their performances. Had they hosted an end of season awards, then I can see even more criticism and mocking of the club. It would almost feel like the people in charge of the Post Office announcing they are having an annual awards dinner.

I don't think cancelling the end of season awards is uncommon, it has been done before. Besides, it was BEFORE the Mens FA Cup final, so that wouldn't be part of any celebration even if they did surprisingly win it. The Club felt the dinner would be a distraction. And, lets be honest, I can imagine it would be. Especially when most of the awards would be some type of wooden spoon, or other players asking "how did he win that, he's been garbage"

Have a look at Germany 2001. Schalke was already celebrating on the pitch when Bayern scored in their game 4 minutes into stoppage time and clinched the title.
That’s how dramatic should be.

The Bundesliga was pretty dramatic last season as well. Dortmund were top of the table until the 89th minute.
